Jaker Ali ruled out of second test against South Africa due to concussion
Jaker Ali has been ruled out of Bangladesh’s second Test against South Africa with a concussion. Mahidul Islam Ankon has been named his replacement. Jaker suffered a concussion during training at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Sunday.

“Jaker Ali suffered a concussion yesterday while batting in practice. [Sunday]”said Bangladeshi physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam Khan. “He has a history of concussions and is still showing symptoms. Given his previous history of concussions, recovery may take some time. “Based on clinical findings, he has been ruled out for the second test.”

Wicketkeeper-batsman Jaker made a debut Check fifty in Bangladesh’s second innings in the first Check against South Africa.

He has also played 19 T20Is, having made his debut in the layout earlier today.

This is wicketkeeper-batsman Mahidul’s first call-up to the Bangladesh team. He has played most of his first-class matches for the Dhaka segment, scoring all three centuries for the NCL team. He also played a match for Bangladesh A against Pakistan A in August today.

Mahidul comes into the team behind in excellent form, having scored 118 against the Sylhet Section’s last outing.

Earlier, the selectors also called up future bowler Khaled Ahmed to replace Taskin Ahmed.
