Many people won’t be surprised to learn that the modding community is already hard at work on the newly released Resident Evil 4 remake.
The Resident Evil 4 modding community had been busy even before the remake was released, and now there is a mod for the game that supports DLSS upscaling from Nvidia. The video game industry is currently experiencing a remake and remastering frenzy. The RE name is just one example of how some of them honor the original source material while others feel superfluous or fall short of expectations.
Now that the full game is available, fans will be able to see how the Resident Evil 4 remake differs from the original classic release. While it appears to appeal to those seeking a nostalgic fix, Capcom has a knack for truly modernizing the titles in its influential survival horror series. Of course, there is always room for improvement, and modders have been working hard to ensure that people get the most out of RE4.
The Resident Evil 4 remake already has a way to look even better, as DSO Gaming noticed, thanks to a mod that supports even more upscaling. It is demonstrated in action in a video on the McBenchmarkPC YouTube channel, which contrasts version 3.1 of Nvidia’s DLSS algorithm with Native TAA and AMD’s FSR 2.1 technology. Gamers who are graphical purists will notice a difference as the upscaler helps to polish the graphics. The video demonstrates how the game can run at 1440p on highest settings. However, anyone interested will need a few more files, which are listed in the mod description, to get DLSS working in RE4. The “Reframework” modification was created by Nexus Mods user praydog.
Before Resident Evil 4 was released, some fans spent their free time modding the demo. Numerous changes have been made since the “Chainsaw Demo” was made available, ranging from changing Leon Kennedy’s attire to upping the difficulty of this small section of the full game. Players can expect a significant increase in mods with the release of RE4.
The original fourth installment of the Resident Evil series is regarded by many as the best game in the series, despite not being the scariest one out there. By utilizing a more dynamic camera angle and leaning more toward bombastic action than horror, it altered the formula established by the first three films. Fans can now play this reimagined version of it with upscaling if they desire after such a change made it an iconic game.
Resident Evil 4 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
