Davis was the 19th pick in the 2021 draft, and the athletic Kentucky product was selected at linebacker, which is where he played from 2021-23. This offseason, Quinn attempted to turn Davis into an edge rusher, hoping to that his physical team vacated the transition. Davis Confirmed the team to follow. and made the initial roster, but played in only five of Washington’s seven games this season and recorded 12 tackles.

Davis’ retirement comes amid a dozen moves on Washington’s defensive shape. Jonathan Allen (pec) will be out for a month and Javontae Jean-Baptiste (ankle) will be injured. Dorance Armstrong could also be dealing with concussion. Washington recently activated Efe Obada and signed Sheldon Generation and Jalyn Holmes.
Linebacker Jordan Magee, who could also be returning from shock, is the most likely candidate to fill Davis’ vacant roster spot.
