Resources: Pittman, Downs and Pierce expected to play games for Colts

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson will make his return to the starting lineup on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, and he’ll likely have plenty of healthy farmland targets.

Big receivers Michael Pittman Jr. (again), Josh Downs (toe) and Alec Pierce (shoulder), all listed as questionable, are expected to play in games, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Saturday night.

Pierce is the receiver of the group, with 368 yards and 3 touchdowns. Pittman and Downs rank second and third, respectively, with 512 yards and four scores combined.

Richardson missed two games due to an upset suffered in Month 4, giving veteran Joe Flacco the opportunity to play in games against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans.

Colts maestro Shane Steichen decided not to play Richardson most of the time against Tennessee, announcing that he was not fully healed. This time, however, Richardson took all of the starting reps and was a complete player in practice all three days in the first year since his surprise.

“He looked good,” Steichen said. “He was throwing accurate passes, he was right in the pocket, he came out, he moved it and he ran a lot. So he looked really good.”

Richardson is trying to develop some consistency after sitting out 15 of 21 regular season games since being drafted Negative. 4 in 2023.
