Former NFL Quarterback Jay Cutler Faces DUI, Weapons Charges

Cutler, 41, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a handgun under the influence, failure to exercise due aid to avoid a hit and implied consent.

According to a Franklin Police Area License, officers responded to a minor visitor strike in downtown Franklin around 5 p.m. Thursday. The police investigation means Cutler rear-ended every second car.

“During their conversation with Cutler, officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol,” the license states. “Cutler was also slurring his speech and had bloodshot eyes. Cutler refused field sobriety tests and was taken to a local hospital where a blood sample was obtained through a blood search warrant.”

A police search of Cutler’s vehicle discovered he had two firearms he owned, including a loaded handgun.

Cutler was booked into the Williamson County Jail shortly before 7 p.m. and held on $5,000 bail. He used to be acquitted at 21:59

Cutler was a 2006 first-round pick out of the Denver Broncos, where he played until 2008. He was traded to the Chicago Bears throughout the 2009 draft and played in 102 games during the 2016 season, becoming the top quarterback of all. franchise times with 23,443 yards and 154 touchdowns. He spent his last season with the Miami Dolphins in 2017.
