EAGLES 2025 FREE AGENCY FIRST: Free Free Agents, Available Capitalization Space, what to know this low season of the NFL

Philadelphia-The Philadelphia Eagles are coming out of one of the most dominant super bowl races in recent memory, crushing Kansas City chiefs at the Super Bowl Lix and ending the possibilities of Kansas City in a three peat. There is no rest for tired, since the Eagles are preparing for a monumental low season two weeks after their victory at the Super Bowl.

Philadelphia has a lot of talent in his list, but he also has good players who arrive at the free agents market. The Eagles cannot sign them all, making the low season more intriguing since the general manager Howie Roseman will have to be creative to manage the team’s lid space. Do not expect Roseman to have its typical low season, even if it continues to be aggressive in improving the list.

“We have many types that I think are at the best moment of their races under long -term contracts, which are in this range of 26, 27 and 28 years, and we really have to do what we can to make sure to keep this window open as long as possible,” Roseman said in the NFL exploration combination this week. “The most important season is to come, 2025, and doing everything possible to maximize that, but we have to be creative to make sure we keep as many of our good players as we can.

“I sat here last year and said that will include playing young players, and I think it will be a large part of what we are moving forward because we are lucky to have many good players who are earning a lot of money.”

As the Eagles go to another low crucial season, let’s take a look at what they face free agency:

LOOKAHEAD EGUILAS Free Agency

Free free agents: Josh Sweat (Edge), Brandon Graham (Edge), Zack Baun (LB), Mekhi Becton (G), Avente (RT), Nick Gates (C), C). (WR), Oren Burks (LB), Kenneth Gainwell (RB)

Projected cap space: $ 22,375,816

Team needs: Edge, LB, WR, G

Key -free agents

Josh Sweat: Sweat served in the last year of his contract, ending with 54 pressures and 8.0 captures for the Eagles. It also ended with 15 carager hits and a pressure rate of 14.1% in their career. Sweat had 12 pressures and 2.5 captures in the playoffs, with seven pressures and 2.5 captures in the Super Bowl Lix. Sweat probably exceeded its previous contract with the Eagles, and should charge this low season as one of the best available passes runners.

Zack Baun: Baun signed a one -year agreement and $ 4 million with the Eagles last March and moved to the internal supporter after the defensive coordinator Vic Fangio thought would fit well in a new position. He rewarded the Eagles with an All-Pro season, ending with 151 tacle, 11 cups for loss, 3.5 captures, five forced loose balls, four defendant passes and an interception in 16 games. He increased his game in the postseason, ending with 33 cups, three defeated passes, a forced loose ball and two interceptions, including one in the victory of the Super Bowl Lix over the Kansas City bosses. Baun is the first player since the cups became an official statistic in 1987 to have more than 150 tacle and five+ loose balls forced in a season. The finalist of the defensive player of the year will obtain an important increase for the 2025 season and beyond, as one of the main free agents available.

Mekhi Becton: Signing a year -year contract, the Eagles moved to Becton to protect themselves and became an force in the offensive line. Becton admitted that he would prefer to play guard for the Eagles or his next team, since it allowed three captures and 22 pressures this season on guard (pressure rate of 5.2% allowed by setback). Allowed three captures and eight pressures in the playoffs (pressure rate of 7.2% allowed by backward). There is a great possibility that Becton returns to the Eagles, since he hinted at a possible return many of his teammates would like him to return.

Milton Williams: Williams, one of the best Eagles passes runners, scored 40 pressures to go with five captures in 2024. He had a pressure rate of 14.8% higher for the equipment with 10 quartback hits. In the postseason, Williams published 14 pressures, two captures, two batted passes and a pressure rate of 12.7%. Williams will be difficult to retain this low season, since he wants a salary increase, but also indicated that he would return to Philadelphia if the price is correct.

That could happen

The Eagles will have to replenish the passage of the pass, since it seems unlikely sweat and Williams will return. Philadelphia is also waiting for the final decision on Graham, who declared in the past that last season was the last one in the NFL (Graham left an open door to a possible return).

If the sweat and Williams leave, that leaves Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt and Bryce Huff as the lonely passing runners on the active list. The Eagles will also have to make a decision about Huff, since it was inactive for the Super Bowl as a healthy scratch, the first year of a three -year agreement and $ 51 million. There is no way that Eagles can release Huff without suffering a dead hat of at least $ 12 million, so it can still be close.

The Eagles is likely to bring Becton back to the fold, even if Philadelphia has Tyler Steen to replace Becton in the right guard if he left.

The most important decision will be with Baun, since the franchise historically has not paid a supporter under Roseman (or even before him). Baun is a crucial part of the defense of Vic Fangio and one of the best supporters outside the ball of the game. The eagles will be thin in the supporter outside the ball if they sign Baun again or not, since Pray Burks is a free agent and Nakobe Dean is rehabilitating a torn rotter tendon on his left knee (Dean hopes he returns in week 1). Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is the only supporter outside the ball that is on the active list, so bringing Baun back is essential.

If the Eagles bring two of the four key free agents, Credit goes to Roseman for keeping important players intact.

Other free agents of the Eagles must make a decision on

Oren Burks had a successful year with the Eagles, especially during the playoffs when he completed for Dean. Burks ended with 24 tacle and a sack in the playoffs, also with a 79.2 passer rating allowed in coverage when he was the main defender. Burks is likely to seek an agreement several years after signing one year agreements with different teams in consecutive years. The Eagles will need a depth of the supporter outside the ball and can solve that problem by signing Burks again, which has also shown that it can start in the League.

Kenneth Gainwell is a corridor that Nick Sirianni likes, but the Eagles have money linked to Saquon Barkley and Will Shipley is ready for an expanded role in its second season. Gainwell had 290 yards by land and averaged 3.9 yards for hauling in the regular season, which will make it interesting to see what his market will be. The Eagles could bring Gainwell back or find a replacement later in the draft.

Howie Roseman did not close a possible search for Garrett, but it was also realistic with respect to this low season and the free agents that the Eagles have to retain.

“I’m not going to talk about anyone under contract with another team,” Roseman said. “One thing that I can promise that our fans is that there will be no player available that we will not study, that we will not see and see if we can help the team.”

“Sometimes those opportunities work. And sometimes they don’t.”

Garrett would solve a significant problem with the Eagles pass, giving the EAGLs a passes corridor No. 1 to pair with Nolan Smith and a player dominant to the limit to work with Jalen Carter in the middle of the defensive line. The Eagles would have to exchange multiple first round and a player to enter the conversation of acquiring a Garrett caliber player, and selection No. 32 is not as valuable as other first round selections in 2025.

Acquiring Garrett is a remote possibility, but never discarded the Eagles from the raffle. They are in their containment window, and Garrett would be an important piece of repetition. Keep in mind that the Cleveland Browns do not want to change Garrett, but it is also early in the low season.

How free agency will develop will affect whether the Eagles do a serious search for Garrett or not.
