The Philadelphia 76ers dedicated the future of the event by positioning themselves to sign Paul George. The idea was to create a three-star core with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey who may no longer fit well together as a group, but who would provide some insurance against speed injuries. Well, the regular season hasn’t started yet and trauma has already occurred. On Monday, the 76ers faced the Atlanta Hawks in a preseason game, George’s second so far in Philadelphia. However, in the second quarter, George left the game shortly after suffering knee trauma.

He was guarding Jalen Johnson in the paint when Johnson gave him a light push in the chest. He lost the ball doing so, however, and when George reacted, he fell to the field in pain. He was briefly ruled out for the night. The preliminary prognosis used to be a hyperextended knee. On Tuesday, the 76ers said George has a bone bruise in his left knee with no structural damage and will be reevaluated in about an age.

Head tutor Nick Attendant noted following the sport that the group used to be “trying to get him involved in things, and he wants to work on things too. So this doesn’t give him the opportunity to do that. Hopefully, everything will be good”. so he’s back with us immediately.” The investigation into such trauma may vary depending on its severity, but George may now skip the start of the season. The 76ers will present their season next Wednesday (Oct. 23) against the Greenbacks.

George has a long history of injuries. He most severely suffered a compound fracture in his right leg last month while playing for Team USA in 2014, but has also had minor, nagging injuries in recent years. The week he only missed eight games last season, he missed 113 regular-season games in the previous four seasons combined. At 34 years old, injuries are becoming a terror for George in the future.

Philadelphia apparently plans to monitor injuries carefully this season. Previous Monday, Embiid guessed that “I would probably never play back-to-back games for the rest of my career.” Philadelphia’s goal is to be healthy in April, not October, so the team will likely handle George as sparingly as possible.
