Kupp hasn’t played since spraining his ankle in Game 2 against the Arizona Cardinals.
“There’s a chance he plays, but we’ll see how it goes today,” McVay said. “It’s going in the right direction, but we’ll see exactly what that means as the week progresses.”
McVay said Kupp will “get some individual work” and upcoming jobs alongside the education team. McVay said the team might get a better idea of Kupp’s condition closer to Wednesday’s practice, but if the receiver can apply Thursday and Friday, McVay would feel confident about him playing Sunday.
“There’s no way to simulate a game setting,” McVay mentioned. “You try to do that in practice as much as possible, but if today he gives us the confidence that, okay, let’s move on, we will give him a boost in terms of his progression and there is value in terms of what he can provide.” on Sunday, so that would definitely be something that would leave the door open for him.”
In two games this season, Kupp has 18 receptions for 147 yards and one touchdown.
On Wednesday, the Rams also opened the 21-day application window to take on Joe Noteboom, who sprained his ankle in the season opener.
