Wrexham may be playing in thick fog at the Racecourse Ground on Boxing Day, but star striker Paul Mullin struck a strike to light up the ground in the first half. Against Blackpool, the Dragons conceded a goal in the first five minutes to Ashley Fletcher, but Mullin responded looking to keep their promotion campaign going.
After a classic long throw, the ball escaped Ollie Palmer and then fell to Mullin’s foot. He was able to settle in and hit the ball in one fluid motion to level the match with a great volley.

The goal is only Mullin’s second League One goal of the season during what has been a challenging spell for him. After scoring 38 goals for Wrexham in League Two, Mullin was expected to be a big part of their campaign this season, but has been in and out of the lineup due to injuries and poor form. Wrexham are seeking their third successive promotion after rising from the National League to win League Two. Wrexham, who currently sit third in League One, would be in the playoffs as things stand, but behind Tom Brady’s Birmingham City and Wycombe Wanderers, they will have to move on to experienced teams with Championship experience to gain promotion automatic. If they get that, their Hollywood dream will truly be in order.
