The Cleveland Browns’ 2024 season continues to sink deeper and deeper into the depths of misery. The team is 3-11, and head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that four-time Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb is out for the season with a broken foot he suffered in a 21-7 loss to Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15 on Sunday.
“I believe that the [Chubb] They stepped on me, but I don’t do it. [know when he’ll return]” Stefanski said after the game. “I think with Nick, I’ve told you this before, I have a front-row seat to see what he’s been able to do. I can’t express how much I respect him as a person, what he means to this football team, so I’m really disappointed about this injury. It doesn’t change the fact that he continues to inspire this football team with his way of approaching everyday life. “I know this is another obstacle he will overcome.”
Chubb will now spend consecutive years climbing hills with long recovery trips. He returned to action in Week 7 of this season after tearing his medial collateral ligament and suffering damage to his meniscus and medial capsule in 2023 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The broken foot he suffered on Sunday is now the future 28-year-old’s third major leg injury. Chubb tore an MCL, PCL and LCL in 2015 while at the University of Georgia before suffering two major injuries as a Browns. He may also have played his last snap in Cleveland, as he will become an unrestricted free agent in the 2025 offseason.
