Their victories over Bangladesh in all three games (by 12 runs, 47 runs and four wickets respectively) completed an excellent turnaround after their 0-3 ODI series lead at the start of the tour. This morale-boosting series win in the subcontinent also came at the perfect time, with an ODI tour of India in January 2025.
“We showed how good we are in each of those three games,” Prendergast said as he collected the Player of the Series award after Ireland’s harrowing chase. “And what an ending, that’s the best way to end.
“Every game we’ve played, different players have stood up and put their hands up. It’s a great place to be in our team, to have so many good players in our batting line-up and so many bowlers that have come in. and change the game.”
