Nintendo will reportedly port another 3DS game to Switch next year

Kirby: Planet Robobot, the 2016 3DS platformer from Nintendo and HAL Labs, will be released for Nintendo Switch next year.

That’s according to industry insider Nate the Hate, who has a history of breaking news leading up to its official announcement.

“A game that is one of my favorites will come to Nintendo Switch in 2025,” they stated. “That title is Kirby: Planet Robobot. “It’s one of the best 3DS games ever released and it’s that kind of title that I think Nintendo can continue to use as filler for the Switch in 2025.”

Kirby: Planet Robobot is an action platformer in which Kirby uses a mechanical suit known as Robobot Armor to solve puzzles and fight enemies. The game received favorable reviews, which praised its level design and variety.

Nintendo currently has several ports planned for release in 2025, including Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and Xenoblade Chronicles X, as it prepares to launch its next-gen successor console and its own library of games.

Earlier this week, suppliers to China-based e-commerce website Alibaba began selling accessories that are supposedly compatible with Nintendo’s ‘Switch 2’.

They include carrying cases for the Switch 2 and screen protectors which, if genuine, would confirm previous reports that Nintendo’s next console will have a larger form factor than the current one.
