Obsidian Entertainment’s latest RPG, Avowed, is almost here, and one of the developers behind it says he’s never felt more confident in a game like this.
It’s been a good five years since Obsidian last released an RPG, The Outer Worlds, and given that the upcoming Avowed is a completely new fantasy IP, there are obviously a lot of questions about how it actually turned out. But if you ask noted environmental artist Dennis Presnell, there’s probably nothing to worry about. Presnell has a really strong catalog throughout his long career, having worked on the Fallout and Baldur’s Gate series while at Black Isle Studios, and in a recent interview with GamesRadar, the developer talked about his confidence in Avowed and how not it feels as nervous as before sending other games.
“Games are really hard to make and every experience is different. I’ve always felt a certain level of dread months before a game comes out, a case of nerves,” Presnell said. “But this is the most confidence I’ve ever had in my experience at this stage of the project.” According to Presnell, work on the game has gone incredibly well, saying, “I’m really happy with how well everything has turned out. The team is now wrapping everything up, fixing bugs, and working on performance, and I’m going to be really proud.” of this game when it is available to the public. In fact, I can’t wait.
Avowed was originally supposed to be released sometime in 2024, but in August it was delayed until February 18, 2025. Whether or not that helped calm Presnell’s nerves is anyone’s guess, but having worked on a few games of quite important roles throughout his career, It seems that another strong one awaits us; Just make sure you don’t force yourself to watch absolutely everything there is to see in the game, as Obsidian believes that can’t-miss content is the best option. gender point.
