Rangers defender Neraysho Kasanwirjo could miss the rest of the season following knee surgery.
The 22-year-old, on loan from Feyenoord, was injured playing for the Netherlands Under-21 team against England and has missed the last three games for the Ibrox club.
“Nana’s operation was good, but he will be out for at least four to six months,” manager Philippe Clement said after Sunday’s 1-0 win at St Johnstone.
“So we can’t count on him, so we’ll see at the end of the season how things go.
“We have an agreement with Feyenoord for him to do his rehabilitation there, but I am still in contact with Nana, who was really disappointed not to continue with the work he was doing, because he loves the club, he loves the dressing room, he even loves the staff, that It doesn’t happen that often.”
Dujon Sterling was absent for the match in Perth but could return in time to face Kilmarnock on Wednesday.
“Dujon is unlucky because it’s not a real injury,” explained Clement, who replaced captain James Tavernier at right-back against St Johnstone.
“It’s a blocked nerve, so you have to see a specialist to unblock it, to get treatment and that’s why he wasn’t available today.
“We’ll see if he’s available on Wednesday or not. It’s not a long-term thing, but those things happen.”
