Crops vs Zombies 3 goes offline for ‘major overhaul’ after comfortable creation feedback

Crops vs Zombies 3 is going offline and receiving a “major overhaul” following feedback from the app’s “soft launch,” which began again in January.

Tower of the Living Dead Guard Part 3 is no longer available to download from the iPhone Bind app and Google Play games, and in-game purchases have been disabled.

A comment posted today by developer PopCap provides current players with information on the date the servers will be shut down for an indefinite period, starting November 15, after which the tournament will no longer be playable.

“Hello residents of Neighborville!” says the comment. “We have been grateful for your enthusiasm and feedback throughout our comfortable creation.

“It’s clear that we are onto something wonderful and after the popular releases of Choose Your Seeds and the manual activation of Grapes of Wrath, we want to go out even further to shape the game into reality.

“That’s why we’re taking the game offline for a major overhaul, and we can’t wait to share what’s taking hold!”

It’s been 9 months since Crops vs Zombies 3 was released via a “soft launch” and garnered a decidedly mixed reaction. On life, Popcap admitted that there have been “some elements of the game that don’t connect as much with some people.”

Throughout this process, Popcap has continued to modify the game with impeccable features, and the sentiment of the current news among Crops vs Zombies enthusiasts is encouraging, if not entirely certain.

“PvZ 3 is slowly getting better, maybe there’s still some hope?” said one fan, posting according to Popcap via the franchise’s reddit.

“It’s a little sad to see the only thing keeping the PvZ franchise alive disappear for a while, but I think it’s for the best,” said anyone else. “I’d rather have a game to play rather than a game that exists, but I can’t be bothered to play.”
