Hyper Light Breaker’s Early Access Release Delayed Once Again: Heart Machine’s Unforeseen Hurdles.

Hyper Light Breaker Early Access on Steam delayed until 2024

Hyper Light Breaker Early Access on Steam won’t launch until 2024.

The announcement means that the game will now be delayed a second time; it was most recently scheduled to release this fall or winter but had originally been scheduled for spring 2023.

“The creation of Hyper Light Breaker has been an extraordinary journey, as we’ve set out to make this new Hyper Light adventure the best possible version of a truly wild idea,” said Heart Machine founder and creative director Alx Preston. “Since we began development, the game has advanced significantly, and we’ve made impressive progress.

The progress they’ve made so far is pretty darn impressive, but they’re not settling for anything less than the best. Taking more time to tinker and fine-tune the game’s inner workings is their secret sauce to success. They’re pretty stoked about the unwavering support from their dedicated fan base.

“We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to produce a fresh adventure that meets fans’ high expectations for a Heart Machine game.”

The sequel to the 2016 action role-playing game Hyper Light Drifter, which was first announced in March, switches from the 2D perspective of the first game to a new 3D one.

Heart Machine wants to clear the air and address its gaming community. In an open letter (well, an open tweet), they expressed their gratitude for everyone who’s been riding this rollercoaster with them. They promise that this extra time spent refining the game will be worth the wait, and honestly. You don’t delay something this big unless you’re dead set on making it mind-blowing.

According to Heart Machine, “Hyper Light Breaker is neither a sequel nor a prequel to Hyper Light Drifter.” It is its own story and is set in the Hyper Light universe. It will have recognizable themes, aesthetics, lore, and other components, but it will be a new game with fresh designs.

It says in the Steam description. In this action rogue-lite adventure, “play alone or with friends to explore vast biomes, take down vicious monsters, build new structures, survive the enigmatic Crowns, and overthrow the powerful Abyss King.”

Hyper Light Drifter made its PC debut before PS4 and Xbox One after several months moving on to Nintendo Switch and iOS a few years later.

The delay stings, sure, but when “Hyper Light Breaker” finally bursts onto the scene in 2024, it’ll be more polished than a gemstone in a treasure chest. With its leap into 3D, captivating storyline, and engaging gameplay, we’re willing to bet that the wait will be worth every second.
