New Alan Wake 2 patch won’t fix PS5 Pro issues, but Remedy is working on a fix

The latest Alan Wake 2 update doesn’t fix PS5 Pro issues, but Remedy has said it is “investigating” performance issues on Sony’s premium console.

Title Update 1.2.5 is now rolling out to all platforms. You can read the full patch notes below, but one thing that’s not included is any PS5 Pro-related updates. Some users reported performance and image quality issues following the game update for PS5 Pro, which was released earlier of this month.

“The PlayStation 5 update (1,200,005) does not contain anything specific to PlayStation 5 Pro, but we wanted to acknowledge that we are watching your feedback,” Remedy said.

“We’re still investigating a few things on the Pro as far as improving performance. We will keep you informed. As PS5 Pro support was many months in the making, it will take the team more than a few weeks to make changes and improvements. Thank you for understanding!

Alan Wake 2 is the latest PS5 Pro enhanced game to face issues following the console’s launch. Both Silent Hill 2 and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor faced criticism for issues with their PS5 Pro upgrades, although Konami’s horror game has now apparently been fixed.

Alan Wake 2 Update 1.2.5 Patch Notes

Improvements and additions

  • [The Lake House] Added The Lake House collectibles to Saga’s Mind Place, when the expansion is played as part of the main campaign.
  • [Night Springs] The Night Springs theme is now available in the Writer’s Room after finishing any Night Springs chapter as part of the main campaign.
  • “Launcher” enemies are now less frustrating to deal with. They move less frequently and take longer to teleport after taking damage.
  • [Motion Controls] Improved Gyro controls and interaction with joystick input. Increased maximum sensitivity available in the options menu from 4x to 20x (for those of you who are, or might be, surgeons)

Corrections

  • [PS5 Pro] Fixed missing LSAO performance data. (Shadows disappeared when switching from Quality mode to Performance mode, smh)
  • [Night Springs] Fixed an issue where a Night Springs episode would not be available in the main campaign after loading a nearby save.
  • [Deluxe Edition] Alan’s hair now becomes messier and when he wears the classic outfit, it becomes properly drenched. He also remembered to put on his wedding ring.
  • [Final Draft] Fixed some photos of Alice that were sometimes unavailable.
  • [Final Draft] Fixed a manuscript page in Return 6 that sometimes could not be picked up.
  • Fixed some map markers persisting after interaction.
  • Fixed Sheriff Stash not being able to open in Initiation 5.
  • Fixed (fingers crossed) Pat Maine’s unreachable radio shows. Good radio lives forever.
  • Fixed a Devolution 1 manuscript page not being available in Mind Place.
  • Fixed a key item in Return 3 that could be picked up too early and could cause a soft crash.
  • Fixed some objectives (“Investigate previously flooded area”) not clearing up properly.
  • Scratch will no longer get stuck behind the microphone stand in Return 08.
  • Fixed some localization issues in multiple languages.
  • Minor fixes and stability improvements.
