Everyone knows how horrible Sony’s Spider-Verse has been without Spider-Man, but the director of Kraven the Hunter thinks you should give his movie a chance.
Poison. Morbius. Mrs. Web. They all have three things in common: they’re all connected to Spider-Man, they’re all made by Sony, and they’re all a bit pants (well, Venom is good or bad if you ask me, but for the purposes of this part, we’ll move on). Everyone knows they’re not very good, and that includes JC Chandor, director of the upcoming Kraven the Hunter, another movie about a Spider-Man villain that apparently won’t reintroduce everyone’s favorite web-slinger. Speaking to ComicBook, Chandor took the time to acknowledge that the rest of the list hasn’t been the best received, while asking fans to maybe still check out his anyway.

“I don’t want to get too into the nitty-gritty, but here’s what I would say: For me as a filmmaker, my number one goal, especially, frankly, in the last few years that you guys are deep in this world… some Of the fans, many of the fans, were upset with certain decisions and certain results. [of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe]” Chandor said.
“Then other movies have had tremendous success. So there’s been a mixed success rate. People have to give us a chance and come out and support this movie, and literally try to eliminate some of the other movies.” things that have happened. Give our movie a chance.” I’d say that’s skewing the stats a bit given that of the five live-action Sony Spider-Verse movies, yes, three have done well, but those are literally the three Venom movies , a much more recognizable and beloved character than either Morbius or Madame Web So a mixed success rate isn’t being the most honest, is it?
Chandor went on to say that he thinks fans “will realize that we’ve done everything we can to give them a pretty fun story. You’ll see when the movie ends, there’s a chance a lot of things will happen. But my goal was to isolate our movie, protect it and “Just tell a good story and then we’ll have opportunities to do a lot of fun things.”
What are those fun things? Literally no one knows, but presumably they’re banking on the movie doing well in the first place, and we’ll have to wait and see if that happens.
Kraven the Hunter is coming out in just a couple of weeks, on December 13th.
