Emma Hayes says the stress of managing Chelsea made her feel unwell

Hayes also said she hopes to test herself against England coach Sarina Wiegman for the first time.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing Sarina. I love Sarina,” he told BBC Sport’s Jo Currie.

“We had a great relationship when I was at Chelsea. He is someone I really admire and someone who has done an incredible job for football in this country and for the Lionesses. “So I hope to give her a hug on Saturday and say hello.”

Hayes also spoke out in support of another of his former Chelsea players, Sam Kerr, who recently announced that he is expecting his first child with his partner, West Ham and USA midfielder Kristie Mewis.

Kerr and Mewis suffered abuse on social media following their announcement, with Chelsea deleting a congratulatory post due to homophobic comments.

“I think Sam is going to be an amazing mom,” Hayes said. “When Harry [Hayes’ son] When he used to come to training camp, he always gravitated towards Sam with his natural warmth.

“It’s not surprising to hear the abuse they suffered, but I know she is strong enough to overcome that and is not someone who expects an easy road with anything. “I just think that, for those of us in women’s football, we have just arrived. to wait for that.

“She doesn’t do it well, and it’s unacceptable, but I know Sam will make it through and put all her energy into making sure she and Kristie get through the pregnancy safely and bring their baby into the world.”
