Did you think the Silent Hill 2 remake only had a hidden message? Think again, players have found more.
One of the biggest things that has helped the Silent Hill series endure in the minds of fans for so many years after the peak of its popularity is that the games are full of secrets. There are so many strange things to discover, often creepy, obviously, and the recent remake of Silent Hill 2 is no different. Players quickly found a hidden message that the game‘s developers themselves thought was perhaps too obtuse to decipher, and that same message pointed to a long-held theory that protagonist James Sunderland is trapped in a time loop. Now, players have apparently found another pair of hidden messages, one of which appears to fuel that same theory.
A YouTube account named Shiba shared a video of the first message, explaining that “A message is playing on the TV at Brookhaven Hospital, transmitted in Morse code. The sound is mostly drowned out by the static on the TV, making it difficult to to hear clearly Morse code is distinct, however, with a clicking sound that resembles a telegraph. Loud clicks mark the beginning of a signal, while softer clicks signal its end.” That message? “Again and.” The morse code signal simply plays forever in the background, over and over again, apparently a reference to time loop theory.

The other message is found on a similar television in the Woodside Apartments section, again in Morse code, this time saying “why did you do it, James?” I won’t give any spoilers for this one for those of you who haven’t played the original or the remake, but those who know, know. I’m sure there will be even more messages to find, so keep up the good work, all you smart Silent Hill fans.
