Pearsall, 24, a first-round draft pick out of the team in April, applied this rhythm again, marking his first job on the field since before August 31, when suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.
49ers general manager John Lynch hinted last Friday that Pearsall would have “a chance” to face the Chiefs.
“I think the trend is going in the right direction,” Lynch told San Francisco’s KNBR. “It must be recognized that Ricky, after a horrible situation, responded very well physically and attacked work to recover.”
Pearsall was temporarily hospitalized following the shooting that left him wounded, which occurred during an effort in which a teenager allegedly attempted to rob the big receiver in San Francisco. The fact that Pearsall avoided serious damage to his organs was “nothing short of miraculous,” Lynch said of the life.
The Florida product technically has 3 weeks to be activated from the non-football trauma book/log, or else he will be asked to sit out the remainder of the 2024 season.
