2025 Free Agent corner ranking: the best settings for DJ Reed, Darius Slay and other veterans in the open market

The free agency is less than a week at the NFL, since the teams begin to establish their list for the next season. All the league teams are looking to raise the Vince Lombardi trophy as the Philadelphia Eagles did last month, since the Eagles were a team that built part of their list of Super Bowl championships with signatures of intelligent free agents.

This year’s corner class at free agency has many good veterans teams they could use to improve, with a lot of initial caliber corners in their 30 years. Darius Slay, Rasul Douglas, Jonathan Jones and Stephon Gilmore would be key assets for teams that seek to improve their secondary school, or teams can sign the corners of free -ticket free agents such as DJ Reed and Charvarius Ward.

The corner class is one of the strongest groups in an average free agent class, even with all 30 -year -old players. Long -term agreements may not be the standard with this group, but any team that firm these players will obtain excellent value by 2025.

Perhaps the corners will arrive early, but the equipment can afford to be patient and find the adequate adjustment (and price) with some of these players. As the new year of the League will begin, these are the corners of the 10 best who are ready to achieve free agency.

  • Age: 28
  • 2024 Team: New York Jets
  • Average annual salary: $ 11 million

Reed is one of the corners underestimated in the league, winning the opportunity to be a CB1 after spending several years with Sauce Gardner. The opposite field marshals aimed at Reed last season completed only 46.3% of their passes, since it allowed only two pass touchdowns and a pin rating of 63.0 as the main defender in coverage. He also had 11 defended passes.

Reed had seven passing sanctions of pass and zero interceptions, but it has been one of the consistent corners and is a locking defender.

The best settings: 49ers, lions

It is already a good cover corner with two franchises (the 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs), Ward hit the free agents market again. The opposite field marshals aimed at WARD last season were very successful, since Ward gave a 93.3 pin rating as the main defender in the coverage.

Ward had a negative year in coverage, allowing five touchdown passes and zero interceptions, but allowed only a rating of 54.9 coverage pin during the previous two seasons (with six interceptions).

The teams that chase Ward must wait for version 2022-2023, not last year’s player.

The best settings: 49ers, Patriots

Slay comes from one of his best seasons, since opposite field marshals signed up for him competed only 47.1% of his passes. Although Slay did not have an interception, it allowed a 63.6 pin rating as the main coverage defender, registered 13 pass breaks and allowed only two touchdowns. He also published better better in the completion rate (47.1%), allowed yards (371), completions of more than 20 yards (three), first allowed attempts (15) and pass rupture rate (19.1%).

It is not a surprise in the free agents market after its launch of the Eagles, but there is the possibility that it can return to Philadelphia. Even at 34, Slay is one of the best corner available.

The best settings: Águilas, Cuervos, Steelers

  • Age: 29
  • 2024 Team: Detroit lions
  • Average annual salary: $ 14.8 million

Still one of the best coverage corners, Davis provided a stable presence to secondary lions before their jaw injury in December ended its season. The opposite field marshals aimed at Davis completed only 55.1% of their passes and had a 62.7 pin qualification when Davis was attacked as the main defender in the coverage.

Davis had two interceptions and allowed three pass touchdowns, and has allowed a pin rating below 65.0 in three of the last five seasons. It is a veteran active for any team that firm it.

The best settings: Steelers, Buccaneers

Playing with Gilmore was massive for Murphy, since he ended with six interceptions of his career last season. Murphy, one of the Ballhawks in the League, has 13 interceptions in the last four seasons, and more than 3 interceptions in three of the last four years.

Murphy allowed a 62.0 pin rating in his coverage career last season, but also a complete coverage rate of 69.7% in his career. To match Murphy with an established veteran would be ideal, but it is an asset for a high school.

The best settings: Vikings, assailants

  • Age: 31
  • 2024 Team: Buffalo bills
  • Average annual salary: $ 3.5 million

A veteran who has been with several teams in the league, Douglas is one of the coverage corners underestimated in the League. Last year it was a strange year for Douglas, since the opposite opposite fields attacked had a 90.6 pin rating, a year in which Douglas had zero interceptions in 15 games.

Douglas has allowed only a 58.2 pin qualification in coverage in the last four seasons, with 14 interceptions. He is a strong veteran for any list at this stage of his career.

The best settings: Bills, Packers

  • Age: 35
  • 2024 Team: Minnesota Vikings
  • Average annual salary: $ 7 million

The former defensive player of the year is still strengthening at age 30, since Gilmore was a stabilizer presence in the high school of the Vikings last season. Gilmore allowed five pass touchdowns and a 78.0 pin qualification in coverage last season, but that was attributed to the defensive scheme rather than his skills.

Perhaps being 35 years old plays a role, but Gilmore has allowed a pin qualification below 65.0 as the main defender in coverage in five of the last seven seasons. It is still an asset for a secondary school in the correct system.

The best settings: Ravens, Steelers

Difficult to believe that Jones is entering his 30 years, but the veteran comes from his worst season in coverage. As the main defender in coverage, Jones allowed a 112.6 and 70.2% of the passes rating to complete. It allowed seven touchdown passes and zero interceptions.

This is the same player that allowed a 63.2 pin qualification in coverage during the previous three seasons. Perhaps a change of scenario would benefit Jones while heading at nine in his career.

The best settings: Loaders, buccaneers

The son of former corner All-Pro Asante Samuel, Samuel Jr. did not allow a touchdown pass or had an interception in the four games he played last season. Samuel had “Stinger symptoms” who kept him out last year, and says he will be ready for the beginning of the low season program, wherever he ends.

A solid defender in coverage, Samuel Jr. should be an initial corner in 2025. He has a career pin qualification of 70.8 allowed in coverage as the main defender.

The best settings: Vikings, Buccaneers

Hilton, another veteran corner in the market, had an inactivated year in coverage last year (86.0 Pin qualification allowed when he went). The opposite field marshals aimed at Hilton last season completed 74.6% of their passes.

Hilton is still one of the best corners of slot in the NFL (and possibly the best since 2020). There must be good equipment that aligns for their services.

The best settings: Steelers, commanders
